As many displaced families in Lebanon continue to face difficult living conditions in collective shelters, access to nutritious and regular meals remains a critical need. In response, CVC Charity, with the support of Stichting Vluchteling (SV), implemented a food assistance program aimed at providing freshly prepared meals and sandwiches to families residing in shelters.

The initiative began with the preparation of the Shim Kitchen, which served as the main production site for the distributions. Throughout the project period, CVC Charity prepared and distributed a variety of meals designed to provide balanced and nutritious food options for displaced individuals, including children, women, and elderly people living in shelters.

A total of 3,830 Labneh sandwiches were distributed, prepared with labneh, French bread, cucumber, fresh mint, salt, and juice. In addition, 6,190 Mortadella sandwiches containing mortadella slices, French bread, lettuce, corn, and juice were provided to beneficiaries. CVC also distributed 1,880 Halloumi sandwiches, prepared with halloumi cheese, French bread, cucumber, and juice.

To diversify meal options and meet different nutritional needs, the project included the distribution of 1,100 rice meals prepared with rice, milk, starch, rose water, mastic, and powdered milk, as well as 1,100 Mshawshe meals made with chickpeas, tahina, lemon, garlic, and Lebanese bread. Another 1,150 Hummus and Tahina sandwiches were distributed, accompanied by fresh mint and juice.

Additional distributions included 2,250 chocolate and cheese croissants with juice, 1,200 pasta meals with red sauce, 1,050 Batata Harra meals served with yogurt and fresh vegetables, and double cream cheese sandwiches prepared with Lebanese bread, cucumber, and juice.

Through this intervention, thousands of displaced individuals living in shelters received access to freshly prepared meals and snacks, helping alleviate food insecurity and improve daily living conditions during a period of continued displacement and uncertainty. The support provided by Stichting Vluchteling (SV) enabled CVC Charity to respond to the immediate needs of vulnerable families while ensuring the consistent delivery of quality food assistance across participating shelters.
