The Protection and Basic Assistance Program is dedicated to safeguarding and empowering vulnerable communities, focusing on children, women, and marginalized groups. Through specialized protection services, psychosocial support, and cash-based assistance for orphans, widows, and other at-risk populations, this program enhances safety, dignity, and resilience.
Key Programs and Services
Focused Psychosocial Support Servies (FPSS)
Structured group and individual
psychosocial support sessions that help children, women, and vulnerable individuals
strengthen resilience, improve emotional wellbeing, and develop positive coping
mechanisms.
Community-Based Psychosocial Support Services (CBPSS)
Community-level activities
that promote wellbeing, social cohesion, and inclusion through recreational activities,
peer support, life skills, and awareness sessions.
Child Protection
Child-focused interventions and awareness activities that promote
children's safety, wellbeing, and development while helping prevent violence, abuse,
neglect, and exploitation.
Women and Adolescent Girls Support
Safe and supportive activities designed to
empower women and adolescent girls, enhance their psychosocial wellbeing, and
increase access to information and available services.
Protection Awareness and Community Outreach
Awareness campaigns and outreach
activities covering child protection, gender-based violence prevention, safeguarding, and
available support and referral services.
Referral and Information Services
Providing information on available humanitarian
services and facilitating safe referrals to specialized service providers through
established coordination mechanisms.
Cash and Basic Assistance
Emergency cash and in-kind assistance provided, when
applicable, to support vulnerable households in meeting their immediate basic needs
and reducing protection risks.
