In 2025, Lebanon’s education system remained severely affected by conflict, displacement, and economic collapse, with widespread school damage, disrupted learning, and heightened protection risks for children and youth. In response, and in alignment with the Lebanon Response Plan (LRP) 2025 and UNHCR’s Education in Emergencies framework, CVC implemented a holistic, multi-sectoral education response to restore access to learning, promote inclusion, and strengthen safe and protective learning environments.

CVC supported 896 students with direct education services, covered school fees for 906 students, provided partial education support to 764 students, and facilitated transportation for 764 students to improve attendance and retention. Learning continuity was strengthened through the distribution of 1,152 textbooks and 8,284 stationery kits, delivery of 10,040 education sessions, and the reintegration of 294 out-of-school children into formal education through bridging programs. Institutional capacity was reinforced through the establishment of one Academic Education & Training Center and one Education Administration Unit.

Inclusive education remained a core priority, with 652 children with disabilities receiving specialized support through 3,240 special education sessions, 2,160 physiotherapy sessions, 2,410 speech therapy sessions, and the provision of 137 wheelchairs and assistive materials. Psychosocial support was integrated across all education activities, reaching 1,884 students through 64,000 psychosocial and academic support sessions delivered in schools and informal learning spaces. Education quality was further strengthened through capacity-building for 1,532 teachers.

To address non-academic barriers to learning, CVC provided 45,520 school meals, distributed 3,912 hygiene kits, installed solar systems in three schools, supplied 210,400 liters of fuel, delivered 417,728 liters of safe drinking water, prepared 39 classrooms, furnished schools with 755 tables, equipped 75 schools with learning materials, and prepared one library and one laboratory, alongside planting 243 trees.

Community engagement and resilience-building were promoted through 1,440 awareness sessions for women, support to 720 youth, 96 parent awareness sessions, 2,570 parent engagement activities, and 60,960 extracurricular and enrichment activities. Implementation was supported through six active partnerships, ensuring coordination and alignment with LRP 2025 priorities.

Through this integrated response, CVC directly contributed to LRP-aligned objectives on education access, protection, inclusion, and learning continuity, reinforcing education as a life-saving and life-sustaining intervention amid Lebanon’s protracted crisis.
